As Lady Whistledown most elegantly put it, “This author finds herself compelled to share the most curious of news.”
Bridgerton‘s Jonathan Bailey, who plays Anthony Bridgerton and was the star of season 2 along with Simone Ashley’s Kate Sharma, shared some new behind-the-scenes pictures from the set of Bridgerton and the Internet is eating it up — for good reason!
Jonathan, who captioned the photo dump “FAMILY FIRST ♥️” used the opportunity to share photos from filming season 2 that featured the entire star-studded cast. From a picture of Jonathan in a bathtub holding rubber ducks to funny shots of Simone, Phoebe Dynevor, Nicola Coughlan, Charithra Chandran, Luke Thompson, Luke Newton, Claudia Jessie and Ruth Gemmell striking poses, making kissy faces and clearly having a blast behind the camera, the shots were an adorable insight to the cast off-screen.
Naturally, fans couldn’t stay calm and excitedly flocked to the comment section.
“Awesome throwbacks! And we all can’t wait to see more of #kanthony in S3! ❤️” commented one fan, using the couple name created for Jonathan and Kate’s characters romance after this previous season. Another wrote, “Absolutely love these BTS photos. Can’t wait to see more 😍.” One simply put, “Love this fam 🐝.”
And the fans weren’t the only ones sharing the love. The other cast members made sure to make their feelings known. “Big love bro ❤️,” wrote Luke Newton, who plays Anthony’s younger brother Colin. In honor of Jonathan’s recent National Television Awards nomination, alongside Bridgerton‘s for Best Drama and Charithra’s for Best Newcomer, Simone and Phoebe shared their praise for the actors. “🌟@jbayleaf @charithra17 super. stars. 🌟💋x,” wrote Simone. Phoebe commented, “So deserved. LOVE YOU ❤️.”
Now that filming is underway for season 3 we can only hope to see more behind-the-scenes moments. Its new season is expected to debut in Spring 2023, but Netflix has not officially confirmed anything. Season 3 will focus on Colin Bridgerton’s and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan)’s relationship, a switch from the original book series by Julia Quinn where the third book focuses on Benedict Bridgerton’s path to romance. We can only wait to see what’s in store for us as we get closer to a premiere date!
