2021 was a blockbuster year for country star Walker Hayes, and he doesn’t look to be slowing down at all in 2022. After more than 10 years in the industry, the 42-year-old singer’s career reached new heights after his hit “Fancy Like” blew up, thanks to its catchy tune, relatable lyrics, and corresponding TikTok dance created with his 16-year-old daughter Lela.
Following that came appearances at awards shows and sporting events, a new album and tour, and even his first Grammy nomination for Best Country Song. While Walker did not come home with the award (it went to Chris Stapleton for “Cold”), we can’t imagine it dampened his spirits.
Walker attended the awards show in Las Vegas with his wife of 17 years, Laney. The couple beamed from the red carpet, with Walker looking classically cool in a dark blue suit and black button-down shirt. Laney was stunning in a pink floral gown with a halter neckline and matching pink clutch. Walker wrote on Instagram, “We’re just happy to be here! It is absolutely remarkable what the Lord can do with a song. Here’s to all the nominees and winners tonight! @recordingacademy. Also…Laney looking mighty fine in pink if you ask me 😉”

In another behind-the-scenes post, Walker shared a sweet photo of Laney embracing him with the caption: “Laney helping me not be nervous 😂😂😬.”
Fans love seeing this couple having their moment. One wrote, “You are already a winner! You’ve been nominated and have a beautiful wife as your date 👏👏👏” and another said, “❤️🔥❤️🔥Enjoy every moment. Don’t be nervous! You’re amazing. God Bless!!!”
In a red carpet interview, Walker talked about how happy they were to be at the Grammys for the first time. The couple, whose six kids were back home, planned a post-show date night of sushi and taking in the Bellagio fountains. Walker said they considered renewing their vows at an Elvis wedding chapel but, he admitted, “It’s pretty pricey. I thought it’s probably a couple hundred bucks but no, no, it’s like 500.” Maybe a little too fancy!
We’ll be looking forward to their next red carpet appearance! Walker is nominated for a CMT Award, so we’re hoping to see them there.
