Matthew McConaughey has career news to share, and he took to Instagram to make the announcement. While the actor is reportedly in talks to star in a Yellowstone spinoff, that news has not been confirmed. But the star does have a development on a non-acting front: he’s written another book!
The Academy Award-winning actor, whose Greenlights memoir became a New York Times best-seller in 2020, announced that he’s sharing his wisdom once again. This time, it’s a picture book for kids of all ages.
A major departure from Greenlights, his new book, Just Because, is a picture book (available September 12) illustrated by Renée Kurilla. According to his website, it’s “a soulful and irreverent collection of life lessons that empowers readers, big and small, to celebrate how we are all full of possibility.” Amazon lists the recommended age range as preschool to third grade.
Matthew showed off a sneak peek of the book, which features a colorful illustrated treehouse on the cover, and his fans shared their messages of support.
- “I’m in the middle of Greenlights, so this is good news.”
- “Wow will definitely read it”
- “That sounds outstanding”
- “Just preordered”
Matthew is not the only author in his household! His wife, Camila Alves McConaughey, released a best-seller of her own last year. She partnered with Adam Mansbach to write the children’s book Just One Bite.
We’ll be looking forward to the book’s release in the fall. In the meantime, we’ll be eagerly awaiting any other career announcements from Matthew.
