Mindy Kaling’s latest look on Instagram has us searching for a holiday-red dress just like hers. The Office alum, 43, shared new pics on Instagram of herself rocking a red bodycon LaQuan Smith dress, along with a clutch and black heels that showed off her super strong legs.
“More of a standing only kinda dress,” she captioned the pics. Obviously, her followers and friends are clearly obsessed with her look. Actress Olivia Munn commented, “😍😍😍😍😍 STAHP!!!!” Actress Sarayu Rao wrote, “Sitting is overrated. 🔥🔥🔥,” and other people left even more fire emojis on the post.
Mindy is clearly working hard to get super strong, as demonstrated by those toned legs in that minidress, and she gave People an inside look at her health journey this spring.
“I’ve tried really hard to let go of this idea of losing weight for vanity reasons and really trying to think of how I can be healthy,” she said. “And for me, healthy is working out, moving my body a lot, keeping hydrated, and then not having negative connotations around working out and making me feel like if I don’t do this, then I won’t be something else. And that’s taken a long time to kind of shed those old ideas of working out.”
Mindy also added that these days, she has a different outlook on her workouts (she doesn’t dread them), and loves to get active with a variety of activities like jogging, walking, yoga, pilates, strength training, tai chi and more.
“When I was younger, I had a very specific idea of how working out needed to be. It was like 45 minutes on the treadmill, seven-minute mile, it needed to be punishing, I needed to hate it,” she told People. Thankfully, she’s moved away from that kind of thought process when it comes to moving her body.
Sometimes, it can be good to keep mixing things up with your workouts, even if that means trying something totally new. Mindy knows this quite well.
“I don’t have to be like the expert at the thing to really enjoy it and to get a great workout. Surprising the body with lots of different things I think is really good, particularly for my body … I’ve really been mixing it up and knowing that if a workout doesn’t necessarily make me soak my clothes with sweat, it still was a good workout,” she told People.
As for Mindy’s diet, the actress tells Women’s Health she eats “everything.” One of her faves? Hotdogs.
Mindy is also big on staying hydrated (and usually that means 50 ounces of water before 7 a.m.). “That’s a huge weight off my shoulders because I think hydration is so key,” Mindy tells Women’s Health. “Half the times I’m in a bad mood it’s because I’m not hydrated, so for me that’s super important.”
Go, Mindy, go!
