With over 30 years in Hollywood, Queen Latifah knows how to make a statement on the red carpet.
Earlier this spring, on May 5, The Equalizer star was honored at Variety‘s 2022 Power of Women event in New York City. Choosing to take a more classic approach for the night, the actress walked out in a black ruffled floor-length gown. Accessorizing the outfit with an embellished clutch and diamonds for jewelry, she completed the ensemble with a smoky eye and neutral lipstick.
“About last night… @variety #PowerofWomen,” she captioned a carousel of moments from the event on Instagram the next day.
Unsurprisingly, the former Hairspray actress turned heads with this outfit. In fact, her longtime fans rushed to the Instagram comments section to tell her just how beautiful she looked in front of the cameras.
“🌹GORG£OUS🌹,” one person wrote. “Like every year you look out of this world,” another follower wrote, in part. “All Hail the Queen!!!👸,” a different fan said.
Sadly, she’ll have to switch her couture for civilian attire as she prepares to promote her new Netflix film End of the Road, set to drop on September 9. As far as season 3 of The Equalizer goes, production officially started this August and there’s an official premiere date for later in the fall.
New season pictures show Queen Latifah’s character, Robyn, standing in a white room. Although there aren’t details about what this could mean, folks may remember the leading lady getting kidnapped during the season 2 finale. After the unexpected event went down in front her daughter, Delilah (Laya DeLeon Hayes), and Aunt Vi (Lorraine Toussaint) will turn to Detective Marcus Dante (Tory Kittles) for help.
We can’t wait to see what the next installment of The Equalizer will entail. Perhaps, Queen Latifah will also grace another red carpet to toast to the new season!
