If you’ve been watching Love It or List It for years, there’s a good chance you’re well-acquainted with the faces of the show. While designer Hillary Farr and real estate agent David Visentin are the hosts, contractor Eric Eremita played a pivotal role in the show from 2015 to 2019. And while many viewers expected him to return in 2020 — given he was selected as the show’s lead contractor — he’s been missing from our screens.
Why is Eric Eremita not on Love It or List It?
In April of 2020, Eric contracted Covid-19 and ended up on a ventilator. Thankfully, after two weeks, he came off the vent and successfully beat the virus. Not surprisingly however, he had a new lease on life.
Following the life-changing event, Eric announced his exit from Love It or List It in the summer of 2020, revealing that he had “big things coming” on the Reality Life with Kate Casey podcast. While he didn’t immediately publicly announce exactly what that would entail, news began circulating about a potential new home design show with Eric at the helm.

And that show has come to fruition. It’s called HOMEBOYS and showcases Eric alongside his friend, Conrad Layton, as they work together to turn houses into dream homes. While Eric and Conrad have been working on the project since the summer of 2020, the show has yet to be picked up by a major network.

Although the show isn’t officially slated for primetime (or a streaming platform), fans can’t help but swoon over the idea of a new show starring Eric. “Congratulations!! Can’t wait to watch,” one fan commented on his post. “Congratulations finally! It’s been boring without you,” someone else exclaimed.
Only time will tell if fans’ wishes will become a reality. Here’s hoping HOMEBOYS gets picked up sooner rather than later.
