Back in June, fans of the Hallmark show When Calls the Heart were thrilled to hear the news that the long-running series, inspired by Janette Oke‘s book of the same name, is officially returning for a season 10.
“When Calls the Heart continues to push the limits as to what we can achieve with this show,” said Lisa Hamilton, Executive VP of Programming for Hallmark Media. “There are many more stories still to be told about the lives of the beloved characters in this series and we cannot wait for everyone at home to tune in to see what unfolds.”
With that in mind, viewers are wondering exactly where the show plans to go for its first double-digit season. Fellow Hearties know that When Calls the Heart season 9 ended with a lot of surprises and questions about what our favorite characters would be dealing with next.
What will wedding planning look like for Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) and Lucas (Chris McNally)? How will the couple’s friendship with Nathan (Kevin McGarry), resident Mountie of the Royal Northwest Mounted Police force, continue to evolve? Will he find a love interest of his own?
What kind of health problems is Bill (Jack Wagner) facing, and could it be fatal? How will Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) and Lee (Kavan Smith) adapt to their growing family? Is a redemption arc in the cards for Henry (Martin Cummins), who intentionally caused the local mine to collapse?
After doing some digging, here’s what we know about When Calls the Heart season 10 on Hallmark, including the release date, cast, spoilers and how to watch.
When is the When Calls the Heart season 10 release date?
No specific date has been confirmed for the release of season 10 but according to Deadline, Lisa says that fans can expect to see more of Hope Valley sometime in the middle of 2023. That said, filming kicked off this past July and recently wrapped up in November, so When Calls the Heart season 10 could arrive in February, similar to previous installments.
No other significant changes have been announced scheduling-wise so it is safe to assume that fans can still expect new episodes to be released every Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on the Hallmark Channel and like in seasons past, it will probably be 12 episodes-long — one of which will be the 100th episode!

The When the Calls Heart cast is just as excited about season 10 as fans are. Any there When Calls the Heart season 10 spoilers?
One major change happening behind the cameras is the introduction of a new showrunner. According to Deadline, Lindsay Sturman, who has been writing and producing in the TV industry for years, is putting her touch on the upcoming episodes.
When asked about the future for the show’s favorite couple Elizabeth and Lucas, co-executive producer and writer Elizabeth Stewart told Entertainment Tonight, “All I can say is that the course of true love never did run smooth.” This makes us believe that a bumpy road might be in store for the two.
As for the other big couple in the show right now, she thinks Rosemary will be just as “take-charge” with her pregnancy as she is in everyday life, “which of course means she’s in for some shock and surprise.” She also told ET that in spite of Henry’s past misdeeds, she thinks “Henry will continue on his path towards redemption and forgiveness.”
Most recently, Erin posted a heartfelt message about finishing filming When Calls the Heart season 10. “As we wrap our 10th season of @wcth_tv, I’m feeling all of those things and more! 10 seasons of stories & memories, friendship & love, and laughter & tears. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and pride!” she captioned a photo of herself in costume.
She continued: “Thank you @hallmarkchannel for continuing to be such champions of WCTH; we still have lots more stories to tell! Thank you to our crew & cast for your friendship and for all of your hard work this season!”
“And of course thank you to our #Hearties for your unwavering support and passion — we wouldn’t be here without you! We’ll be sharing more soon, but let me tell you … it’s going to be one of the most engaging and electrifying seasons yet. 💖,” Erin concluded.
Does this mean there will be a When Calls the Heart season 11 … ?
