Prepare your favorite game day treats and decorate your homes, folks. Super Bowl LVII is here, with plenty of firsts as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts are making history as the first two Black quarterbacks to play against each other in a Super Bowl game. Jason and Travis Kelce will be the first two brothers to square off in a Super Bowl match-up. What’s more, Rihanna will take the stage at the Super Bowl 2023 Halftime Show for the first time since the 2018 Grammys.

Back in September 2022, the “Pon de Replay” singer confirmed the news on Instagram. The NFL added that she would be teaming up with Apple Music to deliver an epic performance for viewers worldwide. Rihanna’s journey from rehearsals to the stage will also be the subject of an Apple TV+ documentary, giving fans a glimpse of how the singer pulls off the night while being a mom to her son with boyfriend A$AP Rocky.

“When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you can take on the world. You can do anything, and the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world,” she said on February 9. “There’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all, and it’s important for me to do this this year. It’s important for representation. It’s important for my son to see that.”
